Going Vegetarian!

So yesterday I made an appointment with a lady at the gym to get my body fat tested! I came in thinking it would be around 17 or so because that's where it was at about a year prior to starting this program. Also, cause it was the last time that I had gotten it checked. I found out that it was actually at 10.5! I am wanting to get rid of those last few stubborn areas and am thinking about going Vegetarian for a while so if any of you have any helpful hints let me know!!

Healthy Body Challenge!

Hey guys so its been a really long time but I'm still alive! I actually wanted to share with you guys this new program that I've been doing called the Healthy Body Challenge. Starting in November, my shoulder pain from swimming was getting to the point where I was going to either have to give up the sport for good or probably get some work done on my Rotator Cuff. I randomly got a text from a kid that I had gone to high school with and he was gonna be throwing a party that night and I decided that it might be cool to go check out what he was doin with his life. When I got there, Scott explained to a group of maybe 15 of us that he was working for a new company that had the focus of promoting healthy lifestyles and that you could also make a little bit of money while you were changing your life for the better. At first my thought was "Oh yeah... another get rich quick scheme that is gonna force you to spend all of your money in order to make a few dollars." I could not have been more wrong. I decided to Youngevity a few weeks later and started taking the Healthy Body Challenge immediately. Now, you may be asking yourself what this stinking challenge is. The challenge is composed of three parts. You have a multi-vitamin, which provides you with the 90 essential nutrients and minerals that your body needs to function at its peak. Then you have the EFA's which provide you with your essential fatty acids for the day. Lastly, you have the OsteoFX. This is the product that caught my attention. OsteoFX promotes healthy bones and joints. As you can imagine, I was more than excited to hear that there was a way that I could fix my shoulders without having to spend hundreds of dollars on surgery. I started my HBC on September 27, 2013, exactly two months today. Since I have been on the challenge, the pain in my shoulder has been completely eliminated and if anything, my shoulders are stronger than I ever hoped that they would be. If any of you have questions on how you can get on the HBC feel free to respond to this post. This challenge is amazing and I think that everyone should take it! What fun is life going to be if you cant enjoy it to its fullest, anyway?

My lack of sleep.

These last couple of days are going to be the death of me. I have stayed up all night for the past two days and havent been able to accomplish anything. I am starting to feel myself nodding off right now, or, riding the bull as Brother Livingstone calls it. Anywho, I will probably go drink my other two monsters so that I can be alert enough to write this intense paper. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving week!:))

Issues Paper

This is a very stressful paper that seems to be hanging over my head 24/7. It feels like it is never going to go away. I am arguing against gun control but am not really sure where to take my paper mainly because the gun laws where I live, and where I grew up have completely different views... I have never written a paper that was more than 5 pages long and am not really sure how to go about doing a paper of this magnitute. Once again, my life will be muuuuuch better once I tame this beast...

Haha...my personal narrative?

Since school started I have been stressed out of my mind. I have tons of homework and extra-curricular things to do and this darn thing just added to my load. I must say that as fun as it was to wrack my brain trying to single out an important event in my ever so exciting life...well it wasn't. Some of the problems with my paper: not much dialogue, very childish, I probably could have used better built sentences and also could have made the story flow better than it did. In fact the paper is probably going to make poor Professor Elliott cry and have nightmares for some weeks to come. Sorry Professor. Sooooo not looking forward to writing another paper..

Narrative.....

Ugh...all that I have to say about this narrative is that it is stressing me out like none other. I have been wracking my brain all week to try to find sufficient words to put on the paper but nothing seems to be coming out. It seems like everyone else in 150 has just the easiest little time doing things like this but not me. No. I choose to do things the slow and stressful way. After today it will all be over though. THANK GOODNESS!!

Exerpt from "Night"

This is one of the most powerful excerpts I have ever read in my life. It is about Elie Weisel, the author, and his father and their imprisonment at Auschwitz. The mother and younger sister had died previously and the father, son, and two sisters were the only ones left. They were called out of bed and told to walk in a line to a man who would either point left or right. The father and son were both directed left and soon realized that they were going to the crematory. As they got closer and closer to the flames the father started to break down because his only son was about to be burned and he didn't know how he would be able to bear that. The son, however, had different plans. As soon as they got to the ditch, he was going to throw himself on the barbed electrical fence, a much quicker way to die. As the moment of truth presented itself, a guard pointed them to the left yet again and they were led off to another prison.... What courage these two individuals must have had in order to overcome something as tragic as this. I can't imagine how I would have ended up in life if I would have had to endure such a thing. The struggle being both the fathers and sons, makes it so much personal and makes you realize some of the things that we as people living in this great country take for granted on a day to day basis. . . Think about what you take for granted, and change it.
